Who is Shie Kantor?
Shie Kantor is a Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in voice and swallowing disorders. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Religious Studies at DePauw University and Master of Music in Voice Performance from University of South Carolina. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education from Utah State University, her Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and completed additional coursework and research in Gerontology and Speech Language Pathology at Purdue University. Shie trained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Voice and Swallow Clinic then completed her Clinical Fellowship at Carle Foundation Hospital Department of Otolaryngology and Head/Neck Surgery in Urbana, IL.
Her clinical interests lie in the area of voice and swallowing disorders, with specialized interest in voice disorders in the singer and within the aging population. Shie has additional specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of voice, speech, and swallowing disorders in Parkinson’s disease, as well as in the head and neck cancer population including laryngectomy care.
