Who is Robert Hughes? Education and Training
Robert Hughes, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C has been an NCCPA certified Physician Assistant for twenty-three years. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cabrini College, a Physician Assistant Certification from Philadelphia University, a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska, and most recently a Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Lynchburg in May of 2021. He is a member of the Academy of Doctoral Physician Assistants and the National Society of Black Physician Assistants.
Professional Background
Robert’s clinical experience includes practicing bilingually in English and Spanish while serving diverse and under-served patient populations in a variety of settings, including inner-city offices, clinics, and hospitals in Camden, NJ, Philadelphia, PA and the surrounding suburbs. He also practiced in a family residential center for Immigration and Customs Enforcement under The Department of Homeland Security. Robert has worked in multiple medical specialties including Family Medicine, Employee/Occupational Health and Travel Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, ENT & Head & Neck Cancer, and Urgent Care.
Philosophy
Robert’s teaching philosophy is that educating patients and actively involving them in their medical care is essential to achieving optimal outcomes. He embodies the mindset that there should be “life-work” balance with emphasis on time spent with family and friends. Hobbies include travel, movies, and fine dining.
